What Happens if you dye a light color fabric with a Darker shade of the Same base color?
I need to dye a bright orange jumpsuit a dark orange red. If I purchase a red orange dye, will it actually dye it That color? I'm sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but I'd like to know before i purchase the materials. Thanks in advance.
It Will work fine, but only if you choose the right kind of the for the fiber your jumpsuit is made of, and only if your jumpsuit is made of a dyeable fabric. If your jumpsuit is made of cotton, linen, rayon, or hemp, the right choice is a fiber reactive dye, Procion MX dye Poor ', Dylon Permanent Dye, Dylon Machine Dye, or Tulip One Step Fashion Dye. If your jumpsuit is made of nylon, silk, or wool, you'll get the best results by using a good acid dye, Standard and Poor 'PRO Chemical & Dye's Washfast Lanaset Acid Dye or dye, but you often get acceptable results cans These Fibers on using an all-purpose dye, Standard and Poor 'or Tintex RIT. If your jumpsuit is made of polyester, acrylic, or acetate, Can you dye it with any of the above dyes. The only dye That will from work on polyester is Called dye dispersion. You Can not buy locally solid dispersion dye. Can you mail-order it from a good dye supplier; see my link below for Sources of Dyeing Supplies Around the World. Dye dispersion is applied by boiling the jumpsuit in the dye for half an hour or longer. Will you need an enormous cooking pot That you do not plan to reuse for food ever again. If your jumpsuit is made of Tyvek or polypropylene, you will of not be Able to dye it at all. These notes will of Fibers accept any sort of dye. Also be Your will from undyeable jumpsuit, no matter what material it's made of, if it is either water-resistant or stain-resistant. Assuming That you have picked the right type of dye to match the fiber content of your jumpsuit, dyeing it a Darker shade of the Same color is very easy. Avoid the all-purpose dyes RIT Poor 'Whenever possible, since it bleeds badly in the laundry, so items with Dyed it must be hand-washed separately in cool water. A better choice of dye will from allow you to machine-wash your clothing without sorting for color.
