Modern Light Fixtures Serve You In Different Ways
Lighting in homes, offices, restaurants, malls and public places has undergone a revolution in concept, design and style in the last couple of decades. However manufacturers in lighting industry didn’t do much to educate customers about these exciting developments.
Technological advances in lighting and light fixtures have brought elegance and liveliness to all places where we use light.
There is variety of light fixtures and multitude of lamps to confuse us about selection of right fixture for our needs. But we can simplify task of selecting right type of Light Fixture by grouping them into following categories.
Uplighter Fixtures:
This type of light fixtures come in pendant or wall-fixed versions as well as free-standing, or table, or floor form. They are meant for directing light upwards. They are very effective for illuminating a decorative ceiling. You can place a free-standing light fixture on the floor to cast light beam on a wall hanging.
Downlighter Fixtures:
These light fixtures are installed for directing a beam of light downwards to highlight lower area of the room. The type of lamp or reflector in the light fixture determines width of the beam – wide and intense or narrow. Downlight fixtures can be fixed to ceiling, or wall, fully or semi recessed.
Wall Washers:
It is a type of downlight fixture which casts beam of light to the sides. It is generally fixed in ceiling, one millimeter away from any adjacent wall to flood the wall with light. This light fixture is perfect for focusing light on large wall hangings and pictures.
Spotlight Fixtures:
Spotlight fixtures were fashionable in the past, but their use in the modern interior lighting has declined considerably. However, they are very useful for excellent highlighting and allow you to alter lighting arrangement in the room depending on their use.
