Wrought Iron
How do you hang an outside window box that hangs inside on the windowsill and not lose the AC? (Wrought iron)?
My girlfriend's herb garden is in wrought iron boxes that have hanging hooks that slide over the edge of the window sill, so the plants become window plants. I need to be able to close the windows for multiple reasons. (like we live in florida and it is hot and the windos won't latch/lock with the boxes there. can any one help? the boxes are the width of the windows, wrought iron, and have coconut liners to keep the plant in.
You could place a strip of foam or really thick weather stripping in the gap and close the window on top of it to stop the air loss. Then put a piece of wood or an adjustable tension rod between the top of the frame and lower sash to keep it from being opened from the outside.
It would probably be more secure if you would find a way to just attach permanent hooks to the outside of the window, so you would have to mess with it.
